The food runner is the liaison between the server and kitchen helping to ensure that meals and other food items are correctly delivered to guests, including take-out orders. These individuals must maintain a strong knowledge of the restaurant’s menu and cuisine in addition to understanding and performing side-work. Food runners must maintain positive, upbeat attitudes, work well with others, and interact with guests on a regular basis. Candidates must offer part-time availability.

 

Responsibilities to include:

  • Ensure food is prepared to guest’s request
  • Ensure plates are handled carefully and brought out in a timely manner
  • Assist with clearing and cleaning tables, filling water glasses and refilling drinks
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and customer areas and returning plates to the kitchen
  • Able to handle customer complaints and notify appropriate staff to ensure problems are fixed
  • Able to stand for 5+ hours
  • Able to lift/carry 30+ lb. materials
